15 days jail for naming a teddy 'Muhammad'.

The immediate response to this story, about a British teacher in Sudan being jailed for 15 days for allowing a class teddy to be named Muhammad, is that Islam is fucked. Fair enough I say.

Islam is stuck in antiquity, or at best the Middle Ages, but that is not ultimately why this women is going to jail for naming a teddy after The Schizophrenic Muhammad.

She is going to prison on the interpretation of a few old stupid men blinded by the dogma of a fairytale book that was delivered to The Schizophrenic Muhammad by Gabriel (fuck me!) at Hira in about 610.

Of course, the book was not delivered in one clean hit and was put together over years and years and a complete copy didn't even exist at the time of Muhammad's death. So, the book we have today is only heresy from the fragments pieced together at the time anyway. In reality, the book was based on the culture of the day. Nothing more, nothing less. And that culture of the day was dominated by men and they treated women like shit!

So, today we have a woman going to jail, for naming a teddy after one of the great Schizophrenic Prophets of human time.

I wonder if a male teacher would have got the same punishment. Not bloody likely.


I'm not even going to start on the Saudi rape case where the rape victim gets lashes and jail time for being gang raped. Holy fuck! Humans have got some work to do to raise themselves above the more basic of animals.
